List of culture, shopping and food events you can't miss in the second half of May in Zürich
Many events are popping up in Zurich over the upcoming weeks, either for culture, food, or shopping. It can be hard to keep track of every single one, here is my list of recommendations for the upcoming weeks (that I literally have signed in my own agenda) 📒
Zürich Tanzt
Thursday, 15th to Sunday 18th May
This cultural event takes place since 2013 and brings a super busy schedule to Zurich over a long weekend. Crash courses for all kinds of taste, shows and parties will be held all over the city. Some warm-up events already take place from Monday 12th to Thursday 15th, but the real and most exhaustive program takes place during the weekend. Make sure to check the full schedule on the website.
Vinokilo Zürick
Saturday, 17th May
The recurring huge sale of vintage clothing that tours periodically in many Swiss cities, comes back in Zurich, this time in Sihlcity. You pay the clothes by kilo based on a pre-set pricing. I find it always fun to go and deep dive into the best fashionable items from older times. Recommended for shopaholics!
Barfussbar designer market

From 20:00 until 23:00 the bar on the water Barfussbar hosts a fine design market, coupled with DJ set music. This is one of my top favourite bars in Zurich, make sure to check it out!
Pflanzenverkauf
Thursday, 22th -to Saturday, 24th May
In Tanzwerk101 (101 Pfingstweidstrasse 8005 Zürich) will be held the biggest sale of plants at super convenient prices. If you're like me, never satisfied with how many plants you have in your home or on the balcony, make sure to reserve your entry! Tickets are for free, but based on an entry date and time.
Kreislauf 345
Friday, 24th - Sunday, 26th May
The shops in the Zürich districts 3, 4 and 5 are wide open for you to stroll around and discover new entries or refresh your mind on long-time favourites. You can also sign up for a Detour tour of local brands. The shops that participate in the initiative will also be exceptionally open on Sunday (Am I dreaming?!)
OpenHub Day @ImpactHub
Monday, 23rd May
An open day at the Co-working and events venue Impact Hub, where you can expect workshops, talks, presentations on topics such as sustainability, digitalization or business , but also enjoy music, food and drinks and even clothes swapping! Registration is free.
Studio Festival opening
Wednesday, 28th May - Saturday, July 5th
Studio Bar makes a seasonal opening of an outdoor, urban-set stage for live music, DJ sets, food, drinks and art installations, perfect to make the most out of weekly summer evenings. Located in District 5, next to Hardbrücke. Check the webpage above for more details closer to the date.

Kreisflohmi
Kreis 8 opens the season of Kreisflohmi - when anybody can turn their front door into a second-hand mini market for a day! On Saturdays throughout the summer, you can find different districts in Zurich crowded with neighbours that sell their own second-hand stuff for small prices. I love strolling around and checking what people are selling, it's a perfect time to have a casual chat with people that might live right next to you and you never met before.
